To protect or not to protect, that is the question. There are so many differences in opinion on this topic, and it seems people from the old energy use (and swear by) putting a protective ball of light around them.
That is one method you’ve probably heard of already, but it’s one that I don’t use. I’m not saying this doesn’t work, and I’m know it does for some people, however it’s never resonated with me so I don’t do it.
In this article I’m offering you alternative methods, in case the protective ball of light doesn’t resonate with you either.
And frankly, I’m only using the word ‘protection’ so we all know what we’re talking about, but in my personal practice I don’t use that word. I feel it conjures up fear and the idea that there are many energies, forces, and people that we need protecting from. This is a fear based approach and thus breeds more fear.
We are powerfully enlightened beings (even if we don’t feel like it most of the time), and we don’t need to be scared of anything or anyone.
We can learn to master our own energy, grow and expand it at will, use it to transform and uplift heavy forces in the world, and raise our own vibration and that of the planet.
In light of that, my top 3 methods for managing, maintaining or enlivening your energy include;
The key is not to be afraid of heavy, dark or negative energies (and people for that matter). It is time for us to realise our power, and to not cower in fear or hide because we’re scared of what may happen to us.
A daily practice of connecting into love and your heart chakra will help raise your vibration, which in turn will have a big impact on how you feel. It’s possible to raise your vibration so much that you are never brought down by ‘negative people’, places or events.
You are the Queen of your Internal Palace and frankly, it’s time we let ourselves know that, feel that, and live it.
We can reclaim what’s always been ours and grow in love, using all experiences – the good, the bad and even the ugly – as tools from which we learn.

One of the most beautiful aspects of working with the angels is that you don’t need to wholly ‘believe’ in them. You just need to be open minded enough to want to give it a go, or bold (or crazy) enough to do something even though your logical mind might be telling you not to.
The belief usually comes later.
There is nothing too involved or hard when working with the angels, it is simply about extending an invitation and giving your permission for them to act in your life.
Once this is done then be prepared to observe myriad synchronicities occurring in your life, which can make your life easier, happier and more fulfilling.
Angels usually communicate by offering support indirectly, such as helping you meet just the right person, or through other people who might say something you needed to hear, or through signs that you see such as repeating numbers like 222, 333 or 444 to let you know they’re around.
However you can also work with them more directly, which is how I love to work with them. Working with them directly helps you to ask questions and get instant responses, work through challenges your facing in your life, uncover hidden blocks, receive healing energy, receive wisdom and a fresh perspective about an aspect of your life, and more.
I open up a dialogue with them which I hear as a voice in my head (usually sounds different to my own however doesn’t always). I’m also visual (which you can be too with some practice, if you’re not already) and get an image of the angel or guide in my head, but once again not always. This experience varies from person to person, and sometimes changes depending on what guide or angel you’re connecting in with.
Often preceding the voice and visuals, I get some sort of sensation in my body to let me know they are near. This can include tingling up and down my spine, goose bumps, a cool breeze, a fuzzy happy feeling in my chest and stomach, ringing in my ears, tapping on my fingers, and more.
How do I start?
To get this sort of direct communication kicked off you can let the angels know you want to connect in with them directly, and then ask for help. It can be extremely helpful to do something to raise your vibration, such as a guided meditation, or focused breathing into your heart to help the connection along as well.

If you sit quietly and then call the angels in, you can call one being in particular such as Archangel Michael or Archangel Gabriel, or you can call in any being of love that is there for you. Then say that you’re wanting to communicate with them and can they please help you hear them. Just assume your request has been heard and is working to be answered.
Most people won’t hear the voice externally – like someone was next to you and talking. You will most likely hear it inside your head and may even discount it through thinking you are making it up yourself. This is the crucial point – where you will either shut it down and get no where, or you can continue by allowing the discussions to unfold even if you think you’re making it up.
Once you decide to go along with it, you’ll begin to notice the response sounds a little bit different to how your normal thoughts sound. Such as the voice might be a little higher or lower, or the word choice or phrasing is different to how you would normally say it. Also, the more you interact you’ll begin to receive different perspectives to situations in your life, and advice and wisdom which enlightens you and helps your life. This is the stage that you’ll become more convinced that you’re making a real connection – but you have to get there first.
What Should I Say?
When working with the angels you can be general or specific, and it’s a good idea to try both ways on different days to see what happens. You can just start with invitations and requests, and when the connection gets stronger through practice, get to having back and forth conversations with them.
For example; one morning you can say aloud or silently;
“I invite the angels into my day in every way, and I give you permission to guide me and work through me for my highest good”.
Or you could try asking for help with something specific, such as;
“I invite the angels in and ask for help with getting a job or job offer in the quickest time-frame possible, which is aligned with my highest path” or “I ask the angels to help bring someone loving into my life and I ask for help with remaining open to whatever way they come.”
Another way I like to invite the angels in is to ask for their help with a feeling. For example; on a day that I am feeling low or somewhat contracted from the world, or if something challenging is going on I might say;
“I invite the angels into my day and ask you to show me how loved I am” or
“I ask for your help with feeling more love / happiness / joy / abundance etc”
Remember to thank them for being there for you 🙂
The next step – which is often overlooked but so utterly important, is the letting go!
Once you’ve said, thought or written down your invitation and request then you can move into the next phase which is trust. Have faith that your request has been heard and will be answered. Move into curiousity or simply take a few deep breaths and connect back into the present moment.
Basically, forget about your request 🙂 I like to write them down because it is such a powerful convincer later on that week or even weeks later when I read back over my journal and I can see when I have sent requests out to the angels and then they have been answered. But once you write it down you don’t need to keep asking or thinking about it.
They may not always be answered in the way that you want, but they will always be answered.

What are you waiting for?
The other day I was in a bad mood. Nothing particularly drastic but just grumpy, tired and a little low. I was tired from a big week so instead of wallowing and creating dramatic reasons for my mood, I decided to flip on youtube and watch a video or two on topics which help me feel alive, expansive and energised.
Little by little and without really trying I started to lighten up. I was interested in life again and it really got me thinking, how often do we experience a mood and then create drama within our heads to attach to it? We love to have reasons for everything, and sometimes we feel a certain way for which we may or may not have a reason for, but then we go hunting for a reason.
As Eckhart Tolle informs us, it’s the act of linking a thought with an emotion that traps the emotion inside of us, instead of just letting it pass in natural timing. It’s okay if the reason is glaringly obvious, but it’s when we go hunting for the reason instead of just being okay with however we’re feeling, that problems occur.
Our ego-mind loves to analyse and create drama, so we don’t need to be creating more situations to call on it’s help. It’s all about accepting however you feel and connecting into your spirit, then proceeding from that space.
In light of my experience I thought it would be interesting to compile a list of high vibrational mood raisers!
