It seems May is proving a very trying time for many of us, and sometimes when everything seems awry it’s time to look to the skies.
The New Moon tonight is said to be a Super one…. Which basically means it’s much closer to the Earth, so the tides will be bigger and we will be affected – due to being about 60% water and all…
There are five planets in retrograde at this time, with many keen astrologers saying it’s time to clean house. During this period of intense retrograde, we’ll be faced with our old crap – like the stuff you’ve stored on top of your cupboard or down in the basement, or that bag of old clothes that you’ll never wear again but don’t want to get rid of either – but we’re talking about it in terms of your old emotional baggage.
The old patterns you used to play out, especially in terms of financial issues, relationships, self-doubt and fears will come up. We’ll be facing them head on, so instead of panicking or hiding under the covers, it’s time to be bold and brave.
They’re showing themselves for a reason, and it’s good to know that while we may have been more comfortable before they were actually still there impacting our lives from the crevices. So it’s a great opportunity when they reveal themselves, because then we’re able to recognise them and set them free as opposed to being unconsciously driven by them.
This is the time that we need to instill any new, helpful habits, ones that will propel us forwards into being the person we really want to be. And often that means not pushing forward with our personal goals for now, but recognising what is truly important to us in our lives, and investing time and effort into those areas. Such areas might be our sense of community – our friends and family where, once we can get past our own dredged up issues from the past, can offer us great comfort and solace.
So with the undeniable amount of activity occurring overhead, it would be wise to take a second to step out of the firing line and ground back into Mother Earth. We can be assisted in the big clearing out in a major way – but it’s up to us to let it in.
It can be important to reflect on how many days or even weeks go by when we don’t get our feet into the sand, or feel the soft fresh grass under our feet. Or even ask ourselves when was the last time we took a walk by the water, or went for a sunset stroll?
The time is Now.
It is more important than ever to do some grounding. We are magnets for energy and with everything being intensified, it’s our own responsibility to nurture ourselves and take care of our energetic being.
And why is it so hard to get outside? We allow so many hours each day to plug in electronically, yet we are too busy to plug into nature.
My favourite way to ground is a sunset walk. It’s said that the radiant reds, oranges and pinks of a sunset cleanse and replenish our base chakras, and leave us feeling de-stressed and re-charged. A clearing and balancing of these lower chakras also help to drain the clutter of judgemental and doubting thoughts that take up space inside of our heads that only serve to bring us down.
So lets just all take a collective breath in.
It’s going to be okay.
The universe is here for us.
Everything that is occurring is helping us to expand, learn and grow. And it’s important to remember that we are being supported in the process, even though it may not feel like it at times.
