Inspiration for Creatures of Habit

We are creatures of habit. We think somewhere between 60,000 to 70,000 thoughts in one day, and 90% of those thoughts are exactly the same ones we had the day before.

A quote from the most informative, powerful and inspirational book I’ve read in a long time; You Are The Palcebo by the incredible Dr Joe Dispenza. I’ll continue with the next paragraph in the book which is transformational and insightful in itself to read all the way through – even though you may feel you know where it is leading…

We get up on the same side of the bed, go through the same routine in the bathroom, comb our hair in the same way, sit in the same chair as we eat the same breakfast and hold our mug in the same hand, drive the same route to the same job, and do the same things we know how to do so well with the same people (who push the same emotional buttons) every day. And then we hurry up and go home so that we can hurry up and check our email so that we can hurry up and eat dinner so that we can hurry up and watch our favourite tv shows so that we can hurry up and brush our teeth in the same bedtime routine so that we can hurry up and go to bed at the same time so that we can hurry up and do it all over again the next day.

Thinking the same thoughts leads us to make the same choices. Making the same choices leads us to demonstrate the same behaviours. Demonstrating the same behaviours leads us to create the same experiences. Creating the same experiences leads us to produce the same emotions.

We do this all whilst secretly hoping our lives will change.

carl jung quote, hypnotherapy, past lives, past life, hypnosis, wellington

Awareness is the first step. Recognise how on autopilot you are. Ask yourself; what would it take to do one thing in a different way to how I did it yesterday? Whether it be an action, behaviour or thought.

And remember it’s not just you, it’s all of us. We’re all somewhat or mostly on repeat from our previous day, and then feel unfulfilled and frustrated with life. But it’s up to each of us to hear our internal cries and respond. Your Soul is yearning to be heard and connected in with.

She wants change. She wants connection. She wants love.

It’s time for change, and in knowing that we want something different and better for ourselves, it’s important to recognise that it’s only us who can create that change for ourselves. We can be inspired by others however to change our thoughts and our lives has to come from us internally.

Make today different from yesterday. Wake up and create life instead of repeating old re-runs, which were mostly unsatisfying the first time anyway.

Wishing you all an inspirational day of connection, love and life!

Energy Forecast for 2016

Can you feel it? This year is gearing up to be big.

We’ve been preparing for years, even decades, and the time is finally upon us.

Our cage door has flung open and it’s time to fly.

2016, forecast, energy, psychic, reading, prediction, spiritual awakening, awakening, life purpose

2016 is the year we’ll finally be able to follow our hearts desires.

So if you’ve been unhappy in your work then it’s time to listen to the cry of your heart and do something about it, before the universe does it for you. But either way, you’ll no longer be able to ignore your heart and carry on like a zombie, miserable and feeling hopeless. Your sense of power won’t let you.

If you’re in an unhappy relationship, then things will come to a head (if they haven’t already). And don’t worry because it’ll be for your highest good – even if it feels hard or like rejection at first.

If you’ve been putting things off and ignoring the messages of spirit, then watch out, as you’re about to start the action phase in a major way. You won’t be able to help moving forward as opportunities will find you – especially if you say a big YES to the universe and let help in.

A big energetic transformation is at play right now, and it’s time to get on our board and ride the wave. It’s all there for us this year, forward momentum, energy, and direction, and we’re being urged to dig deep and get honest about who we want to be and what we want to be doing.

But don’t worry if you’re not experiencing all of this just yet because January is still a time for laying the foundations. There is still time for us to make way for the new by getting rid of what no longer serves us. And if we do, we’ll be greatly rewarded, because throughout late January all of the pieces of the puzzle will find their place for a soul’s progression into February and the rest of the year.

This is not the time for hiding, or deceiving yourself and others.

Your heart is calling to you, and you’ll no longer be able to ignore what it says. And this will be easier than before, because one of the main differences you’ll experience in 2016 is you’ll no longer listen to the voice of doubt inside of you. It may still rise up, offering you scenarios of what might go wrong, but you’ll feel your own conviction and power in a much stronger and more tangible way.

You’ll no longer let the voice of self-doubt win.

This will help in following your heart’s urges because you won’t shut them down as easily. It’ll feel as though you no longer have the ability to ignore them. Our Spirits are rising through the dense cloak of the very physical world we’ve been living in, and becoming more visible (and audible) in the new dimension.

This may also give you the feeling of being transparent, as if you can no longer hide angels, spirit guides, spirit, awakening, spiritual awakening, how to, what does it meanhow you really feel. People will respond differently towards you, and if you don’t speak up they’ll be able to ‘hear’ it from you anyway (just as you’ll be able to ‘hear’ theirs). As we lose the dense cloak we would’ve once hidden beneath, energy will speak louder than words, so it’ll help to be honest with yourself and with others.

And just as our own Spirit becomes more easily felt and experienced, so too does the spirit realm. 2016 is the year for making connections to the spirit realm – connecting to your spirit guides, the angels, and loved ones who have passed away. Even if you’ve never connected into them before.

We’ve been awakening for a few years now, and another big veil has been pulled away, revealing gifts that have previously been hidden.

Follow your urges and your secret wishes, as they are the clues to what you’re meant to be doing. Most of you will know what that is deep down, and others will need a little help to find it, but our paths are becoming clear. They want you to acknowledge what is important to you and use that as your guide.

2016 isn’t the year for procrastination, it’s the year for action.

And don’t feel as though you need to start off running, pushing or forcing things to happen. That’s the energetic part that is building momentum all on it’s own. It’s there to help you, and all we need to do is quieten down inside of yourself and focus your attention on what is important.

You are also being urged to ask for help and guidance from your spirit team, as they are there stronger than ever, waiting for your invitation to help.

Happy travelling!
Sharon

Knowing this will eliminate road rage forever.

mandala, spiritual awakening, higher self, ego, eckhart tolle, wisdom, how to,

I often wonder how different the world would be if we chose to live more of our lives as our higher selves.

I know there’d be many grand differences that would occur on a global scale, however one aspect of life that has come to mind recently that would diminish out of existence, is road rage.

There would be no more road rage.

More often than not, we can see what the other driver is about to do anyway, and we adapt and drive accordingly. It’s after the fact that the pesky ego-voice pipes up and says “They’re not supposed to do that!” or “I could’ve crashed!” or “Why are they driving so slow, the speed limit is 100!” or usually worse…. We get angry because a part of us fantasizes about what could have happened – such as a crash – and conveniently forgets the fact that it didn’t happen. Basically we get angry at a fictional scenario.

Why do we get angry? Why do we choose a fear response instead of a loving one, an ego-reaction instead of the higher perspective? We’ll have a close call on the highway then tell our friends and family about it, usually ramping it up with a few extra details, to make a good story. They’ll get angry because deep down they love us and don’t want anything to happen to us, so they’ll jump on your bandwagon, sometimes even more passionately and vigorously than you. And what we’re really doing is spreading fear.

And when we’re in the throws of the exciting drama of it all, we usually haven’t stopped to wonder what might have been going on for the other driver.

We usually haven’t given it a thought. They could be sick, they could be upset, their mother might have just died, it could be anything, but that’s besides the point anyway.

Because when we’re in the throws of anger the most important question to ask is; what’s really going on for me?

Basically something happened that scared us and we lashed out. We usually lash out when we can’t handle that we were scared. We despise vulnerability. It makes us feel weak. Like some so-and-so can come in and take everything away from us in an instant. It makes us feel small and insignificant, and we hate that!

But it’s an unconscious reaction to instantly get angry. You are better than that. I am better than that.

We all are.

What do you think might’ve happened if we contacted our higher self instead?

We might witness what a capable driver we were when that car swerved out in front of us.

We might acknowledge how intuitive we are because we got a sense of what the driver was going to do before they did it.

We might recognise that they could have something tough going on in their life and send them some love – which results in us feeling powerful instead of powerless and a victim of circumstance.

There are infinite alternatives to getting angry, yet the most commonly un-chosen response is anger.

Let’s be better than that.

For the Brave ones

We hide from who we really are,

yet if only we were brave,

we’d discover what we really are;

is all we ever need.

spiritual awakening, poetry, poem, blog, life, healing, development

We’d answer every call for love,

whatever package was delivered,

so longing feelings could subside,

along with hate and anger and greed.

Only then the tides’ll truly turn,

gently forming something grand,

cause the power is and always was,

forever in your hand.

Awaken through a change in perception

space, awakening, 11:11, awake, how to, life, wake up, helpA simple shift in perception can change everything. One moment we can be feeling low, dull and off-course and the next moment total euphoria. We create our reality by our perception of it and recently I’ve been delving deeply into the concept of our awakenings and of living an ‘awake’ life.

Last weekend I experienced a slight shift in perspective which changed everything. I was driving along the coastal road which links my friend’s house to my house and many people were out walking along with each other, or alone, or with a pet. But all of a sudden everything changed.

It was as though I seeing two versions of the same thing. One version I was in my car down on street level with everyone, and the other version I was out in the cosmos with stars between me and the earth. I could sense that it had all only been in an instant: our entire inhabitance on earth. I was seeing that only an instant ago we had all been thrown together on this rock, stuck there by an invincible thing we’d termed gravity, and we were all just going about our day pretending we know what’s going on.

It all seemed hilarious.

We were pretending it was all normal and mundane, yet we were moving about in these funny limbed containers we call bodies which (mostly) do what we tell them to do, and we were all stuck to a spinning rock floating in the universe.

We exist in this awesome, weird and powerful reality yet we drag our feet through each day moaning about this or that, caught up in the perceived seriousness of it all, thinking woe is me.

And that’s how we miss it.

space, amazing photo, wake up, awakened, awakening, help, how to, live, happyA long time ago we put our shutters down and started to sleep walk, we closed our eyes to the miracle of each moment, of everything around us and in us, and we decided that because we have defined everything and memorised terms, definitions and information that we know everything. We think we’ve got it all figured out and then we get bored.

Imagine for a moment that we were all sucked off this planet, hurtled out into space and placed down on another planet – say Jupiter.

Imagine those initial minutes when you realise you’re alive, then you look up and realise other people are there with you and they are alive as well.

Can’t you see it?

Everyone looking just as confused as you feel but incredibly grateful that they are still conscious and can move around. Then you begin to get curious. You are  amazed at everything. You inspect and marvel at yourself, you marvel at the ground beneath you, even at the tiniest grain of dirt. And as you look up, and look around your eyes are wider than they’ve ever been.

Now take that same feeling and bring it back down to earth, to your life. To right now. What if you were an energy inhabiting this body, co-exhisting with other beings inhabiting bodies too? Would you still live your life in the same way?

What would it take for you to forget that you think you know what’s what, and open to child-like curiousity?

We are still children. All of us. Whether we are 5 or 85.

Children of this marvellous universe that beckons us to dive in and explore.

universe, wake up, awakening, perception, change, live, happy, how to, help with anxiety, help with depression

One foot in, One foot out

awaken, wake up, a course in miracles, how to, be happy, find my passion, job, loveI feel like most of the time we live this life very confused. We confuse ourselves over what’s important and what we care about, we confuse ourselves about who we want to be and what we think about ourselves and others, we confuse ourselves about what’s really going on here, and we confuse ourselves into thinking we are finite.

Death, sickness or a sudden change in circumstances can sometimes shift us out of our state of confusion and catapult us into reality – real reality. I’m sure you have experienced a moment or moments in your life where something big has happened and you have been left with such clarity you feel as though up until that moment you must have been living with your head stuck in the bath. But then it fades.

We go back to work, or we find ourselves getting annoyed at the person standing in front of us in a line, and all those superficialities come rolling back in and we slip right back into the blur of our confused existence.

Recently I read a powerful line in A Course In Miracles:

“If you only accept what is timeless as real, you will begin to understand eternity and make it yours.”

I don’t know about you, but I feel awesome when I read that sentence. I don’t fully understand it but I know enough to know that comprehending it isn’t the point.

As the end of the year draws near and a new year is just in sight it’s got me thinking; what do I really care about?

Once I have answered this question, I will then investigate how I can craft my life for 2015 around my answers. At any moment each one of us can choose  to live a life fuelled by what we really care about, and we don’t actually need anything bad to occur to take us to this same conclusion. We can decide right now to let go of the shit that we pretend matters, and start to live.

Let’s live to live.

Top 5 Tips for Being Unreasonably Happy

angel, guide, spirit, psychic, help, how to, be happy, inspire, life, lifestyle, health, selfhelp, Did you know you could be happy without having a reason?

Over the years I have stumbled upon wisdom or experienced realisations which have changed my life. Many of which I have forgotten but some have left a permanent imprint on my life. They have left their mark because they have helped me connect into joy and happiness inside myself, rather than giving me a reason to feel happy which can be much more fleeting.

We all have the capacity to be joyful, light and happy at any moment, without any external stimuli or event. However as we grow up and become adults we forget that happiness doesn’t require a reason.

These are my top five tips for being happy right now, before you’ve changed anything in the external world – like your job, financial situation, lover etc.

1.          Notice likeness over differences.
This is the most beneficial use of our overused ability to judge other people and ourselves. Hundreds of times in everyday we distinguish how people are different from us, how they are right or wrong, better or worse, what we like or dislike about them. We put ourselves down by comparing ourselves to others and then pump ourselves up by degrading others, when the most beneficial and freeing way to use judgement is to recognise how similar you are. You might start by noticing obvious similarities, and then later on hidden ones. Or you might even just notice that we are all human going about our day doing the best that we can. But even just by giving it a go you will begin to feel that warm and fuzzy feeling in your chest and set yourself free.

2.          Write down all of the things that make you feel really good, and then do something from your list everyday.
This isn’t about what gives you momentary pleasure, it’s about what brings you warm and fuzzy feelings of joy, right through your belly and chest. The things that lift your mood and connect you with your spirit without even trying, and the things that make time feel as though it’s sped up.

3.          Think of others.
Think about another person, a stranger or someone you know, and ask yourself what you could do for them. It might be as simple as sending them an email about how much they mean to you, or writing a review for their business online, or donating to their charity run. If you can start your day by doing this you are onto a winner. The most successful people I know (and I’m talking about successful in the sense of feeling happy and fulfilled) include doing at least one thing for someone else everyday. It’s a surefire way to pull yourself up and out of victim, poor little old me mode and right into expansive, beaming with love mode!

4.          Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway
Yes this is the title of a book but if we could apply this one little gem then our lives would expand tenfold. The key here is to observe when you shy away from something or say no, whether you are doing it because you are worried or afraid. Once you catch the sneaky bugger in the act and recognise that what you are feeling is fear, then it will become easier to give yourself the extra nudge to say yes instead.

5.         Give up the Need to be Right
Firstly you might start with observing how often you deem yourself right and others wrong. Then spend some time pondering the viewpoint that potentially we are all just walking this planet alike and perhaps none of us really know anything in the way that we think we do. I feel much more free to express myself when I’m not trying to prove that I’m right and conversely that someone else is wrong. And what appears right in one moment, might in some future moment appear ‘wrong’ anyway, so just let it go and we can all be wrong or we can all be right. It doesn’t matter. What could you do differently if you were no longer needing to show others that you are right?

What are your top tips for being happy?

Our Greatest Obstacle

quote, life, inspirational, inspire, insight, wisdom, happy, how to, development

Our perception that we understand what things are just because we remember a label or a definition, or that we know what we are doing, is the greatest blocker to experiencing what is actually occurring. I think the world would be a much freerer place if we just admitted that we don’t really understand anything AND that it’s okay not know!

We are all just here experiencing the same ride and we are all children of the cosmos – no matter what age we think we are! So let’s be kids again.

Give yourself permission to know that it’s okay not to know. Because it is. You are okay just as you are. We all are. So let’s give others a break too. We are all just giving this ‘life’ thing a go.

Let’s jump to compassion and understanding quicker than we jump to judgement.

What would your life be like if you let yourself be okay with not knowing everything?

What would your life be like if you let yourself be okay with not feeling as though you should know everything?

Make joy your only goal

how to have confidence, joy, be happy, happiness, life, self improvement Imagine for a moment that your only goal in life was to experience and feel joy. And that every other goal, aspiration or dream that you’d ever had came secondary to feeling joy.

What would you be doing right now? Later on today?

What would your life be like?

When I make joy my goal I instantly feel better. I am snapped into the present moment and feel awake and excited about life. I treasure any interaction with another person and I feel good about myself – right now. Not in a future moment when I achieve this or that, when I am successful or have lots of money. I feel bliss now. I am confident and connected to life and what really matters.

And isn’t that the point? When you think about any of your goals or dreams and you start drilling them down what do you find fueling them, right at the bottom? I think most of us would say that happiness is the essence behind most of what we do however we just easily lose site of this and focus all of our attention on the details.

What about when there has been a tragedy in your life, when you’ve experienced that moment of everything coming into perspective – do you remember what you held as important then?

It’s not to say that you should throw away all of your aspirations and just float around basking in joy – although now I say it that sounds like a pretty appealing option. But it’s the affect of finding joy right now: when you make joy your first goal, your priority, your days become supercharged by good feelings, and what results from that is more motivation!

When I focus on joy I feel myself expand, I make a point to connect with other people and I find myself in the flow of life. I have an abundance of confidence, I experience synchronicities left, right and centre, and I achieve a lot more than I ever could have imagined – especially then when I was attempting to motivate myself through negative thoughts and fear.

The only problem I have with making joy my only goal, is forgetting. As soon as I forget my goal it is easy to slip back into old thought patterns where I deem success, money, or external appreciation as a higher goal. Then I start to feel flat, lost and I find  myself clinging to a future moment when I will have time to feel happy…

Close your eyes for a moment and wonder – what would your life be like if joy was your goal? How does that feel?

What would you do right now if joy was your goal?
