More people than ever are having spiritual awakenings, and even though these awakening experiences can be sudden and seemingly out of the blue, they offer us a taste of a euphoric reality that can be hard to come back down from.
Essentially the process of spiritual awakening starts with the simple recognition that there is more going on in our reality than what we can see or experience physically. It’s the acceptance that there are things going on which we cannot see and can easily miss unless we tune into our more subtle tendencies.
The more often you can acknowledge that there’s more to life than meets the eye, the higher the chance you’ll begin to notice the unseen forces at play.
While holding a sense of awareness about what is going on in the unseen reality helps you live in a more awakened state, the spiritual awakening experiences that many people are experiencing usually come on a lot more suddenly and (seemingly) out of no-where.
What’s a Spiritual Awakening Like?
While the experience can be different for many people there are often commonalities, such as experiencing an overwhelming feeling of love, unity and understanding of people and reality.
Often the loss of feeling bound within the confines of your physical body. People can experience feeling limbless or no longer wholly physical, like experiencing yourself or the objects around you as the millions of particles which are actually moving and vibrating extremely closely to each other as opposed to thinking and seeing everything as solid.
The feeling of love is often overwhelming. You may cry or laugh, you may barely be able to move while the experience is taking shape. It may only last a minute or so yet feel like a life-time as your sense of time becomes warped, as if you lose time or time no longer exists while the awakening is taking place.
Oneness. Often in spiritual awakening experiences you understand oneness. And not only as a concept, but as a reality – understanding this is actually our reality even though previously we’ve thought of ourselves as separate and at times, alone.
More about spiritual awakenings:
Often awakenings are experienced as short but incredibly intense experiences which open up our eyes to the unseen reality. We can experience a sudden awareness of ourselves as a Soul as opposed to a diminishing physical body, and the experience may force us to doubt our views of the way we believed the world worked on a fundamental level.
These experiences are important because, even though the intensity often dissipates not long afterward, we are left with a fundamental shift in our perception of the world. One from which it’s hard to come back from or deny to the occurrence of.
With more of us experiencing awakenings I feel it’s important to talk about them – so we can realise that we’re not alone – and that we’re not going crazy!
I’ve had many awakening experiences over more recent years, and I’m becoming more able to live in a more awakened state – which for me, is the goal. Once your awareness of the world shifts, it’s hard to go back to your normal life, and you’ll most likely want to feel more of that euphoric love, and less of the separation and negativity that you held before.
Often after an awakening experience people might feel their life is dull or lack-luster. And this is okay, there’s no need to make any radical decisions just yet (unless there is:). Get to know your new altered state, your new views and perceptions of life. Ponder what makes you tick and where your true interests, passions and love exist.
Take it slowly.
Discover your new interests and find people with whom you can share them with.
The limitless result:
I’ve found once the awakening experience has settled you have the awareness and ability to experience more joy, peace and love in every situation, than you did before.
Every moment becomes one of uniqueness, opening up to be explored and devoured.
So take it easy with yourself and know that you’re not alone. These are exciting and intense times for all of us.
Have you experienced moments of complete euphoria, love and oneness?
